How do I open a case with the Judicial Council?

To open a case with the Judicial Council a Complaint Form must be filled out and submitted to the Student Government Administrative Office (SGAO) via email sgao@asucd.ucdavis.edu.

What happens once I open a case?

The petitioner and respondent will receive a formal notice from the Judicial Council Chair with information regarding their rights and the procedure moving forward. The Judicial Council will consider a case within five (5) academic days of receiving the complaint. When considering a complaint the Judicial Council will vote whether to dismiss the case or schedule a hearing.

 

Can I appeal the verdict given by Judicial Council?

The Petitioner or Respondent may appeal the Judicial Council’s decision on a case, and if the Judicial Council chooses to accept the appeal, the case can be reopened. 

Decisions made by the Judicial Council may be appealed by filling out the Judicial Council Appeal Form, and submitting it to the Student Government Administrative Office (SGAO) via email: sgao@asucd.ucdavis.edu.
